so those of us over in OCCland that aren't on semi-permanent internet/gaming vacation <Cough>VandarrSilkGrad<Cough> are gearing up for a run in Archeage, which opens for live on sept 16, for those the pre-purchased something, on the 12th. as we anticipate the early phase of this game to be a zergtastic mess, we have chosen to imbed ourselves in our local friendly (kinda sorta) super zerg ( PRX - you would rememmber them from Treachery server, as a major element of the COS zerg). While this has some major disadvantages (rules, kos lists, they are really anal about some odd things, but completely non-anal about things you'd think they would be...like specs), it offers a couple major advantages that we think outpoint the down angle...namely that that uberzergedness will allow us to a) play relatively casually b) be able to play the meta game (They have seige...which will likely be ungodly zerg fests early on) and c) generally take advantage of their alpha-beta experience (they hit both pretty hard)...which will definitely assist in accelerating the learning curve. ANYWAY our intent is to <hopefully> field enough that we can function as a cohesive subunit within the superzerg...with respect to all elements of the game...leveling, pvp, crafting, etc. It's free to dl, free to play...so if you're interested in giving it a run you're more than welcome to jump on the superzerg (is it actually a superzerg, if the status quo is a super zerg?) train with us. OCC Archeage Subforum - if you're interested. burn.

I don't like the changes they made with micro transactions actually having a fairly large impact on your resources available.

im honestly not going to get that wrapped up over a resource...at the end of the day everyone will be in it anyway...now you can just pay to be in it faster We're taking this pretty casual, so i'm not likely in that 3-5% of the pop that is going to get really riled up about it.

For those of us sitting on the edge, it basically removes any desire I had to play it. /shrug.

For those of us sitting on the edge, it basically removes any desire I had to play it. /shrug. yeah i could see that. over on our side, while i don't think any of us (that are planning on playing) are seeing it as the great mmo hope (that it once was perceived as), we just don't really see anything else coming down the pike...and really don't feel like going down the sb road (at least for the time being)...as it's just such a job and the 'fun half-life' seems to be ever decreasing. so...aa is free, systems appear to be fairly interesting, has territory control and open world pvp, but suffers from the typical ftp crap of 'pay to win'...we'll just have to see how much it actually affects the game.

playing already. server NA (nuami). but im honest, the headstart is a huge advantage over freeplayers. however. if you dont plan to claim land or make money off this game you can join any server. nuami is the most less crowded one with the least ques in headstart. the zergs are on other servers - still enough to find a good amount of ppl. send me a msg if your on noami. the game is not pay to win. it realy depends on what you wan't to do. you can archieve anything without putting money in it. however some ppl are just to lazy to wait and wan't to archieve there goals as fast as possible and this is easier to spend some money on a monthly subscription for example.
